Hi, I'm Serena.

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) supporting children, adolescents, and young adults through overwhelming emotions, life transitions, relationship issues, chronic pain or illness, and more. Whatever brought you here, my goal is the same: that you leave the first session feeling less alone and more understood.

Who I Work With

I work with children (ages 6+), adolescents, and young adults dealing with a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, chronic pain and illness, ADHD, academic stress, and more.

Childhood and young adulthood are some of the most formative and often turbulent years of a person's life. Young people face a lot: navigating friendships, identity, family dynamics, academic pressure, and an ever-changing sense of self, often without the words or tools to make sense of it all.

Supporting clients through this time is work I find deeply meaningful. The skills developed in these years, including emotional regulation, self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to ask for help, don't just ease present struggles. These skills become a foundation that shapes how a person moves through the rest of their life.

My Approach & Training

My approach is inclusive, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care. I primarily draw on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). I take time to truly get to know each client, including their personality, strengths, and story, so that therapy feels supportive and accessible, not daunting.

My training reflects my commitment to working thoughtfully with young people and their families. I hold certifications in DBT Essentials, ACT Essentials, and TF-CBT through the Association for Psychological Therapies, and have completed specialized training in Innovations in Child and Family Therapy through the SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health Learning Institute.
